3 days in the forest 2 days in the city
The five days event that will take place in Puglia from 20 to June 25 th 2008 will definitely be an innovative experience. Both for the majesty of the Umbra forest, characterized from a wood of beech tree at about 900 meters on the sea level, both for the organization of two stages that will be realized in the particular and characteristic historical centres. The Umbra – Gargano forest is already theatre of prestigious orienteering events, among which we remember:

The edition of the 2008 Puglia five 5 days was born from the experience of a very strong staff tested by the experiences of the PWT and the MOC. It will develop thanks to the collaboration of the ENDAS - corporate body of sporting promotion recognized by the CONI (Italian Olimpic Committee). At the mean time, will take place the Trophy of the Regions of Italy, the FISO (Italian Orienteering Federation) national competition reserved to the representative of the 20 regions of Italy.
An international team of technicians of confirmed experience is already working to define the last details; there is the Finnish Markku Joensuu (responsible of the cartographic updatings who’s already at work in Puglia), the Czech Robert Zardhal and Jaroslav Kacmarcik... together to the Italian technicians Sergio Grifoni and Rudy De Ferrari. To their side the young pugliesi technicians led by Cecilia Colonna and Luigi Laricchia.
The event will not just be about sport, but parties will take place in the main square at the end of the competitions in the historical centres, tasting of the good pugliese cooking will be offered and of course everyone will have the chance to enjoy themselves thanks to a beautiful sea and an unique sun.
The competition centre has been prepared near the residence Bay Santa Barbara in Rodi Garganico right on the sea, so to combine the sea environment to the mountain one in one of the most beautiful site of the world.
