Big names at MOC: Simone Luder, Dana Brozkova and Øystein Kristiansen
MOC Organisers at Sporting Club Catalano received a great news. Among the several entries which arrived up to now, there was Simone Niggli-Luder’s one. As passionate orienteers know very well, Simone was many times World Champion and she was the winner of the 2004 Apulian PWT stages in Ginosa and Lecce. The swiss athlete, leader of the world ranking, will be among the top runners starting the international event, to testify the high quality of the organisation.
Simone will be a tough opponent for reigning MOC champion Dana Brozkova from Czech Republic, number 9 of the world ranking, who will be also present to defend the title she got in 2006.
"Big names" will therefore show up at the orienteering event. As far as men are concerned, the organisers got well-known entries, too. The Norwegian Øystein Kristiansen (third at last Jukola Relay with Finnish club MS Parma) will also be present.
In the meanwhile, more than 120 runners from Northern Europe and Switzerland entered the competition, which will probably be the most important orienteering event in the Mediterranean area ever.
